so, now we've gone our separate ways,
but don't let that erase the days-
when we were one, instead of two,
when you loved me, and I loved you.
we promised to be together again,
we weren't sure how, we weren't sure when-
what you wanted, you did not know,
you needed your space, I needed to grow.
fate didn't allow "our promise" to last,
and although it still hurts, it is the past-
I've moved on, and so have you,
